Systems integration that gets your business working from one set of numbers
Your business does not have a software problem. It has a systems problem. We connect your ERP, CRM, finance and operational systems into one governed platform, so every report agrees, nothing gets entered twice, and the manual work disappears.
Sound familiar?
None of these are software faults on their own. Together they mean your systems were never joined up.
Two reports, two answers
Sales, finance and operations all report different numbers for the same month. Meetings become arguments about spreadsheets instead of decisions.
Someone re-keys it every week
An order or a stock figure gets typed into a second system by hand. It works fine until that person is on holiday.
The spreadsheet is the system
A workbook nobody dares touch is running a real part of your business. One author, no backup, no audit trail.
Nobody owns the definition
Ask three people what counts as a completed job and you get three answers, all of them defensible.
Reporting is a manual job
Month end is days of exporting and pasting before anyone learns anything useful from it.
Access is all or nothing
People either see everything or have to ask someone else to run a report. Decisions wait on whoever is free.
Start with the map, not the invoice
Book a 30-minute discovery call. No pitch. Just a straight conversation about what you run and where the manual work happens:
- What systems are in the business, and who actually uses them?
- Where is data being moved between them by hand?
- Which numbers do people not trust, and why?
- What is that costing you in time, errors and delay?
By the end of the call you will know whether this is worth doing. If it is not, we will tell you.
Book a 30-minute discovery callWhat we build
We work with your existing systems. We do not replace them.
Your ERP stays your ERP. We build the layer underneath it that makes everything agree.
Data moves on its own
Information passes between your systems automatically, instead of someone copying it every Friday afternoon. Pipelines run on a schedule or in near real time using APIs, direct database connections or change data capture, and they tell you when a feed fails instead of failing quietly.
Everyone quotes the same number
One place where a customer, a job, a product and a period each mean one thing. History is kept, so this quarter and the same quarter last year can be compared without arguing over which export was used.
Every figure has an owner
You always know who is accountable for a number and where it came from. Named owners, written definitions, role based access, retention rules and a documented change process. This is the part most integration projects skip, and the reason most of them decay within a year.
Reports build themselves
The board pack arrives without anyone spending three days on it. Power BI dashboards and automated flows sit on top of the governed layer, so the numbers in the meeting and the numbers on the shop floor come from the same place.
Why data governance matters
Plenty of firms will connect two systems for you. Fewer will tell you who owns the result.
Ownership
Every dataset and every headline figure has a named person in your business who is accountable for it. Not a supplier, and not whoever happened to build the report last.
Definitions
A written catalogue of what each measure means, in plain English, agreed by the people who use it. The argument happens once, not every month end.
Access and audit
Role based permissions, so people see what their job needs. Any figure can be traced back to the system and the record it came from, which matters at audit and matters more when a customer queries an invoice.
Retention and change control
Clear rules on what is kept and for how long, in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Changes to pipelines and definitions get reviewed and recorded, so nothing shifts underneath a report without anyone knowing.
How the work runs
Systems audit
Two to three weeks mapping every system, export and manual workaround. You get a costed plan you own outright.
Design and sign off
We agree the architecture, the definitions, the access model and the retention rules before any code is written.
Build in stages
Highest pain first. Each stage goes live, gets used and gets signed off before the next one starts.
Handover and support
Documentation written for your team, monitoring so failures raise a flag the same day, and a retainer if you want one.
Why businesses choose CM Interactive
We specialise in SQL, Power BI, Python and the Microsoft data platform. Our focus is helping UK businesses cut out manual reporting, connect systems that were never designed to talk to each other, and get clear ownership of their data.

Questions we get asked first
The honest answers, before you spend half an hour on a call.
Will you replace our ERP?
No. Replacing an ERP is slow, expensive and rarely the actual problem. We work with the systems you already have and build the layer that makes them agree with each other. If your ERP genuinely is the constraint, the audit will say so.
We are a small business. Is this overkill?
It depends on the pain, not the headcount. If someone is spending a day a week moving data between systems, or month end takes three days of exporting and pasting, the numbers usually stack up. If they do not, we will tell you on the call rather than sell you a project.
Do we have to move to the cloud?
Not necessarily. Plenty of this runs against on premise SQL Server. Cloud usually wins on cost and resilience once several sources are involved, but that is a decision we make in the audit with your constraints in front of us, not a default.
What happens to our data?
It stays in your tenancy, on infrastructure you own or pay for directly. We work to UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, sign a data processing agreement, and agree retention and access rules with you before the build starts.
What if we want to take it in house later?
That is a fair outcome and the build is designed for it. Standard tooling, documented pipelines, a written runbook and training for your team. There is no proprietary layer locking you to us.
How long does it take?
The audit is two to three weeks. After that we work in stages, highest pain first, so you see something live within weeks rather than at the end of a six month programme.
What it costs
No hidden fees. No surprises. Just clarity.
